Ok, now I am reading this article and I feel stupid after my comment on your article about French-style Slaw (feel free to erase it)... So, it looks like I am only adding apple, in comparaison to your version ;) Give it a try !

It sounds yummy :) I consider "slaw" a salad but that's personal lol. My favourite one is with endives, walnut, raisins, apple and blue cheese (St Agur or Société Crème) . For the vinaigrette, a home-made one + mayonnaise (+Société Crème if it is what you chose) on endives only. And then you can add everything else and mix it a bit. Tell me what you think of it if you ever try it :)

Have you ever tried it with eggs ? My mum breaks eggs in it and I must say I prefer it this way - it's more "creamy". My mum claims it's called a "chakchouka", which comes from the fact that her father was born in Tunisia and it's a common way to eat it, whereas my boyfriend (from Toulouse) claims it is called a "piperade". I have no idea who's right or wrong, but it's really good :)

I'm a vegetarian (no meat, no fish, no seafood) for a couple of months now and it is still hard to have my parents adapting their meal to my diet. In fact, it is hard everywhere as you've said it : today, I went to the cantine of the IUFM and it was Christmas meal... I ended up with just pommes duchesses and yogurts and cheese. It is quite depressing to see how poorly adapted our cuisine is. And how poorly informed people are about it !
